Vet ForwardUpstate Circle of Friends, a 501(c)3 organization, has spent over a decade creating and expanding OPPORTUNITIES, enhancing the QUALITY of life, and EMPOWERS citizens of Greenville communities through multiple educational, recreations, and social programs. Continuing in this mission, the board of directors has found yet another opportunity to make a real difference for the families of our Greenville veterans in need.
In the Fall of 2017, Upstate Circle of Friends purchased the lot across the street to our UCF campus in the Belle Meade Community. You and I have had numerous conversations regarding how together we can create various initiatives regarding affordable housing. One of those ideas was this opportunity to construct a 3 -bedroom house to transition a veteran family from possibly homelessness to a warm, inviting home.
This idea is becoming a reality. Since beginning the campaign, sadly, the homeless veteran numbers have not changed much over the past two years. It remains UCF's hope that a veteran will soon not have to wonder where his/her family will sleep at night. Thankfully, UCF received funds and pledges to fund the construction of this first home, but we find we must raise additional funds.
Upstate Circle of Friends is requesting $10,000.00 Dollars for purchasing of items and material listed below. These items will assure the interior and exterior completion for move in by November of 2019. Just in time for the Veteran family to plan their holidays in a home where their children can hang their Christmas stockings!Click here to make a contribution
